The Barren Strawberry looks like a Strawberry but has a yellow flower instead of a white one. It produces a seed as a fruit, not a berry.
It lacks runners like the Strawberry plant and thrives in habitats such as waste roadside environments.
The Barren strawberry blooms in early May.
