Bastard Toadflax - Comandra umbellata

Bastard Toadflax is a parasitic, ground-hugging plant with compact terminal clusters.
Being parasitic, it obtains most of its nutrients from the roots of shrubs and trees.
The genus name (Comandra) derives from the Greek 'come' (hair), and 'andros' (male), referring to the hairy attachment of the anthers to the sepals of this plant.
