Bedstraw - Galium triflorum

A distinctive whorl of leaves and a small 4-petal white flower easily identify members of the Madder family.
Bedstraw often forms sizeable patches which may smother more desirable plants.
Early settlers and Europeans used it for bedding or ticking, hence its name.
